Real-time animation brings ESPN hosts to Andy's room
Hold onto your seats, because we rewrote the game day playbook! ESPN’’s first-ever ‘animated’ alternative broadcast for the NFL, Toy Story style. We partnered with ESPN+ and Disney+ to create pure animation magic in the press box. Our mission: To transform ESPN commentators Drew Carter, Booger McFarland, and Pepper Persley, into the Toy Story universe and host the game live.
Working with the multi-talented creative team at ESPN, we made the characters and environments come alive with real-time motion capture and fine-tuning their facial expressions using our proprietary facial capture system, while sprucing up props and set pieces in Unreal.
It wasn't just a football game; it was a perfect combination of sports and animated entertainment, blending Pixar's charm with the thrill of game day.
